Brown Announces Retirement.... (2016-12-30 01:06:06)

Hall of Fame coach Tom Brown has announced his retirement. Brown, who won 365 games over 35 seasons, made the announcement on Thursday.

Brown, who was not a teacher at East Burke, spent three seasons with the Cavaliers' program.

Brown, 73, finishes with a career record of 365-140-7, a WNCHSAA title with the Blue Devils in 1971 and an NCHSAA title with them in 1978 in addition to four Hall of Fame inductions. His 330 wins at Maiden were a state record by one coach at one school until Charlotte Catholic’s Jim Oddo surpassed that total in 2015.

Brown stated that he stepped down to help take care of his wife of 55 years, who is struggling with her health.
