New Assistant Principals May Be Hired For Ashe County High (2018-06-21 15:44:08)

Ashe County High School has announced the potential hiring of a new assistant principal/athletic director and another new assistant principal.

The Ashe Post and Times reports David Koontz has been offered the AP/AD position and Kathleen Gawsyszawski was offered the other assistant principal position.

According to the report, Koontz just finished his 17th year in education and his first in Ashe County.

Gawsyszawski has had seven years of teaching experience and is coming from Roanoke Rapids High School in northeastern North Carolina where she was an assistant high school principal. She has a masters degree in curriculum instruction, as well as school administration.

The positions will have to be finalized by the Ashe County Board of Education at the June 28th meeting.
