Two people were transported to hospital after a collision on Highway 105 South Tuesday.

The Watauga Democrat reports the accident happened about a mile south of Boone when Shea McKissack, 21, of Boone, made a left turn from her driveway onto the highway towards Boone and struck Sharon Greene, age 54 of Deep Gap, travelling west.

According to the report, State Highway Patrol Trooper C.C. Bentley said McKissack failed to yield right of way and the right front corner of Greene's vehicle was hit by the left front corner of McKissacks vehicle, sending Greene across the center line and off the road. Greene and her passenger, 55 year old Donna Catone of Boone, were transported by Watauga Medics.

Trooper Bentley said everyone was out of their vehicles when Boone Fire arrived on scene.

McKissack was cited for unsafe movement.
