Meggett, Bergman Appointed To New Positions At ASU (2018-06-08 15:06:21)

Two new appointments have been announced at Appalachian State University.

Paul Meggett has been named general counsel for Appalachian State University. Meggett will oversee the Office of General Counsel and will assume his role on June 18. A former law professor and interim dean with Charlotte School of Law, Meggett also served for 12 years in a dual, in-house counsel role as associate general counsel for the UNC Health Care System and assistant university counsel for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He began his legal career as a clerk to Chief Justice Burley B. Mitchell Jr. of the North Carolina Supreme Court.

The Division of Academic Affairs has announced that Dr. Jacqueline “Jacqui” Z. Bergman, associate professor in Appalachian’s industrial-organizational psychology and human resource management program and chair of the Department of Management, will be joining the division as interim vice provost for faculty affairs beginning July 30. Bergman has served as chair of Appalachian’s Department of Management since 2013. She came to the university as a visiting assistant professor in 2005 and was tenured and promoted to associate professor in 2012. Effective July 1, Bergman will be promoted to full professor.
