Drive Carefully Through Smoke, And Over Thanksgiving Holiday (2016-11-23 14:55:18)

The North Carolina Highway Patrol reminds motorists to exercise safe driving habits when traveling through the areas affected by wildfires.

Drivers are urged to increase following distances, use low-beam headlights, lower your speed and do not drive distracted. Motorists can obtain updated traffic information by visiting or by calling 511 from a mobile device. 

Travel over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend should not be impacted very much by road construction projects. NCDOT will put most road construction projects on hold across the state from 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, until midnight, Sunday, Nov. 27.
