Two ZAP Runners Qualify For Olympic Trials (2018-12-04 18:29:01)

SACRAMENTO - The North Carolina High Country was well represented at Sunday’s U.S. Marathon Championships (California International Marathon) in Sacramento, CA., with two runners from Zap Fitness of Blowing Rock finishing in the top four overall.

Blowing Rock’s Josh Izewski, a member of the ZAP Fitness team, running his debut marathon, finished third in a time of 2-hours, 13-minutes, 14-seconds. Following closely behind was fellow ZAP teammate Joe Stilin also running his first marathon, at 2:13.19. Brogan Austin won the race in 2:12.24. Both Izewski and Stilin qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials with their performances.

“Josh and Joe had exceptional debut marathons today to finish 3rd and 4th at the US Championships,” said ZAP asst coach Ryan Warrenburg. “We are very excited for their path forward to the 2020 Olympics.”
