Weather Delays NC 88 Repairs (2018-12-03 16:08:01)

Bad weather has delayed repairs to N.C. 88 in Creston, and road closures are expected to continue.

The Ashe Post and Times reports slope failure repairs between Three Top Road and Dr. Robinson Road began on November 5th and were expected to be finished by mid-November.

According to the report, contractor delays and inclement weather have pushed that completion date back and work is expected to continue for at least the next few weeks. Several more soil nail walls still need to be constructed along N.C. 88 West.

Drivers can expect road closures on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Traffic can take a detour using Three Top Road to Peak Road to Muddy Branch Road.
