Appalachian Theatre About To Get Its Marquee (2016-11-18 16:16:16)

The Appalachian Theatre restoration project is about to take a very noticeable step forward.

The marquee for the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country, located at 559 W. King St., will be installed on Sunday, November 20 starting at 8 pm and concluding at 6 am

There will be no parking in the north side parking spaces between Boone Bagelry and Grand Blvd. 7 pm Sunday night until 6 am Monday for a work zone lane shift.

Starting at 4:30 pm on Sunday, November 20 empty north side parking spaces will be coned off.  Towing may be necessary if cars remain parked in the above mentioned area.  The south sidewalk will be closed to through pedestrian traffic in front of Theater during this time as well.  The Town of Boone will have signage available to assist with the lane and sidewalk closures.

If the contractor also needs Monday night to complete installation, the work zone time will be from 9 pm Monday night to 6 am Tuesday morning.  Town staff will adjust "No Parking" signs as needed.

The installation of the Appalachian Theatre marquee is one of the final steps in the replication of the historic exterior appearance of the Theatre.
