Apps Pick Up Another Verball Commit for 2018 (2016-11-09 15:42:25)

BOONE - The Appalachian State University football team is looking ahead to the future.


The Mountaineers (7-2 overall, 5-0 Sun Belt Conference), who find themselves in a three-team race for the SBC title, took a major step towards the near future, when defensive end Damir Faison, a junior at Charlotte-Vance High School, who attended the Texas State game last Saturday, made a verbal commit on Sunday to attend App State inb 2018.

He's App State's second verbal commit for 2018. He joins athlete Courtney McKinney from East Montgomery.

Faison, who  is 6-foot-2, 240 pounds,  is projected to be a defensive end or a linebacker in Nate Woody's 3-4 alignment.

The Apps have 14 verbals for 2017. National Signing Day for 2017-18 will be February 1.
