Flat Top Manor Receives $723K Grant (2018-11-26 16:06:32)

The Flat Top Manor on the Blue Ridge Parkway received a congressional Centennial Challenge grant of nearly $723,000.

The Watauga Democrat reports the grant will be used to replace the Flat Top Manor roof and rehabilitate dormers, preserve exterior components and rehabilitate the second floor.

According to the report, the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation must raise matching funds to secure the grant.

The Centennial Challenge program was launched in 2015 to create partnerships to address the deferred maintenance backlog in national parks.
