LENOIR – West Caldwell High announced late Friday afternoon it will seek a new head varsity football coach for next season.

DeVore Holman just completed his second season with the Warriors. They were 0-7 in the Northwestern 3A-4A and 0-11 overall this season and 3-4 in the league and 6-6 overall in 2017 in Holman’s first season at the school.

Holman was previously a head coach at Anson County and has a career coaching record of 28-38 in six seasons.

In an email to media, principal Craig Styron released this comment:

“After much careful thought and consideration, we have decided to move in a different direction with the Head Football Coach position.

“We thank Coach Holman for his effort and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
