Ashe Library Hosts Holocaust Exhibit (2018-12-26 15:50:32)

The Ashe County Public Library is hosting a Holocaust exhibit on the second floor of the library.

The Ashe Post and Times reports the exhibit, titled “The Faces of Resistance: Everyday Life in the Ghettos,” is being borrowed from the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust.

According to the report, the exhibit highlights forms of resistance taken by women during the Holocaust. The main features include the efforts of women who helped smuggle people out of Jewish ghettos during World War II and the Holocaust, and who also smuggled food and supplies into the ghettos.

As part of the exhibit, the library will host Holocaust survivor Dr. Walter Ziffer on Thursday, January 24th. Ziffer is also the author of the book, “Confronting the Silence: A Holocaust Survivor’s Search for God.”
