Vilas Man Arrested In Civil Dispute Involving Firearm (2018-11-05 16:25:15)

A man from Vilas was arrested on October 19th for allegedly pointing a gun at another man.

The Watauga Democrat reports 36-year-old Brandon Daniel Bryant was charged with possession of a firearm by felon and misdemeanor false imprisonment.

According to the report, the incident was a civil dispute between a landlord and tenant. Bryant is the landlord’s son and got involved in the dispute with the alleged victim, Michael Heinrich. All three men live at the same residence at 220 Sunset Ridge in Vilas.

Bryant allegedly refused to let Heinrich leave the residence and pointed a firearm at him during the dispute. Bryant was also accused of firing the gun, but he denies that claim.

Bryant is currently in the Watauga County Detention Center with a $20,000 bond and a November 6th court date.
