Cyclist Found Unresponsive On George's Gap Road Dies (2018-11-02 15:36:09)

A male cyclist was found unresponsive on George’s Gap Road in Sugar Grove on October 30th. He was later pronounced dead. 

The Watauga Democrat reports the 66-year-old man appeared to be riding with a group of cyclists and went into cardiac arrest.

According to the report, the 911 caller stated they found the man lying unresponsive in the roadway.

Watauga Medics began CPR when they arrived at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead after he was transported to Watauga Medical Center.

The man has not been named, but is believed to have been from Ashe County.
