Daniel Boone Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution donated $3,000 to the Appalachian Theatre of the High Country.

The Watauga Democrat reports the donation will be used to fund one of five panels of a 50-foot mural that will be inside the theatre.

According to the report, the mural will narrate the history of Watauga County starting in the 1600s.

The Daniel Boone Chapter chose to fund the Longhunter Period of the mural from 1760 to 1800.

The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country is currently under construction for stage expansion and lobby restoration.

Construction of the entire theatre should be complete by next summer.
