Did Someone Say Party?, wins DBDA and Mast General Store Holiday Window Decorating Contest (2016-12-21 13:41:25)

The Downtown Boone Development Association and Mast General Store are pleased to announce Did Someone Say Party? located at 685 W. King St. as the winner of the 2016 Holiday Window Decorating Contest.

Did Someone Say Party? has been in business for 27 years, and offers bridal gowns, bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride dresses, prom and formal gowns, as well as tuxedos. Judges Diane Cornett Deal, Watauga County Clerk of Court; Hank Foreman, Acting Chief of Staff, Appalachian State University; and Glen Kornhauser, Downtown Patrol Officer of the Boone Police Department unanimously agreed on Did Someone Say Party? as the winner. The judges also decided on several honorable mentions which include Appalachian Antiques, Art Mart and Academy, Harmon Law Office, and Mysterium.

Officer Kornhauser stated during the judging, “There are so many wonderful windows to choose from offering simple to fancy lighting, hand crafted ornaments and even a festive Elvis. What sets apart Did Someone Say Party? is the large Dixie Cup Snowman, including its decorative lighting and ornaments. Overall, it is truly amazing to see all the downtown stores ringing in such holiday spirit. He added, “It was an honor to serve as a judge for this year’s contest.”

Hank Foreman stated, “Did Someone Say Party’s? window was creative, well-crafted and perfectly blended the holiday theme with the service their business provides to our community.” He continues, “Particularly, the snowman made of cups, sporting his formal wear, exhibited a great deal of creativity, hard work, and fun,”
