Man Stabbed In Boone Publix Parking Lot (2018-10-08 15:00:42)

A man was stabbed in the Publix parking lot in Boone on Sunday afternoon.

Boone Police, Boone Fire and Watauga Medics responded to the scene around 4:40 p.m.

The victim, 25-year-old Harley Justin Mills of Boone, was transported for medical treatment to Johnson City Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Jeffrey Lee Warren of Sugar Grove, was arrested and charged on assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Warren was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate who issued a $200,000 secured bond for his release. He is currently in the custody of the Watauga County Detention Center.

Boone Police stated this was not a random act, and the individuals involved were acquaintances.
