NC Sees Over $1 Billion In Agricultural Losses After Florence (2018-10-01 14:59:30)

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services stated that after Hurricane Florence, initial estimates for crop damage and livestock losses to the state’s agriculture industry are expected to be over $1.1 billion.

To put in perspective, the damage from Hurricane Matthew in 2016 was about $400 million dollars.

Raw crops are at the biggest loss, at about $987 million. Livestock losses are about 4 million poultry and about 5,500 hogs.
