Holt Named New Watauga Emergency Services Director (2018-10-01 15:03:34)

William Holt will serve as Watauga County’s new emergency services director. He began his duties on September 24th. 

The Watauga Democrat reports Holt will supervise the fire marshal/emergency management office and the Watauga County Communication Center. He will also serve as a liaison with local, state and federal partners.

According to the report, Holt is a United States Air Force veteran, where he served as a staff sergeant supervising field paramedics, disaster management teams and trauma teams. He also has leadership experience with the Charlotte Fire Department and Forsyth County Emergency Services.

Holt has an associate degree of applied science in fire protection technology and emergency preparedness technology, a bachelor’s degree in emergency and disaster management and a master’s degree of public administration.
