Cecil Leonard Wyatt, age 81 of 299 Walnut Ridge Road, Sparta, NC passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 at Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta.

He was born July 11, 1937 in Ashe County to the late Clyde Chancey and Hazel Mazy Mabe Wyatt. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ruth Setzer; son-in-law, Hassel Boyce; brother-in-law, Thomas Absher. Cecil was a faithful member of Elk Creek Primitive Baptist Church and also served as a deacon. He loved his family and his wife dearly. He enjoyed westerns and antique cars.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Collins Wyatt of the home; two daughters, Debbie Milligan and husband Andy of N. Wilkesboro, Teresa Wyatt Boyce of Crumpler; five grandchildren, Andrea Byers and husband Anthony of Wilkesboro, Amanda Burkett and husband Michael of Jefferson, Jayson Milligan and wife Elizabeth of Boone, Scotty Bare and wife Rosanna of Wilkesboro, Julie Kilby and husband Colt of Piney Creek; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother-in-law, Larry Setzer of Laurel Springs; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Absher of Sparta, Linda C. Joines and husband Jack of Sparta; mother-in-law, Elsie E. Collins of Sparta; several nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends also survive.

The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Cecil at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Elder James Wyatt, Elder and James McNeil officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
