ASU Police Investigate Attempted Robbery On Campus (2018-09-28 15:16:35)

There was an attempted robbery on the Appalachian State University campus on September 25th.

The Watauga Democrat reports the alleged victim told ASU Police that around 9:50 that night, he was approached by two unknown men near the intersection of Rivers Street and Stadium Drive.

According to the report, the men ordered the victim to get on the ground, and they checked his pants pockets before fleeing on foot.

University Police stated there was no weapon and no injuries were reported.

The first alleged suspect was described as a white man, about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

The second suspect was described as a black man with a light complexion, about 5 foot 9 and 175 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

ASU Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
