Say Good-bye to Mark and Dale.... (2018-12-19 22:00:26)

BOONE - The Winston-Salem Journal is reporting that two more Appalachian State University assistant coaches have decided to leave.

The most recent departures involve Mark Ivey, who was App State's Interim Head Coach for last Saturday's New Orleans Bowl win over Middle Tennessee State, and Dale Jones. Both men will join former App State coach Scott Satterfield at Louisville.

Ivey played at App State from 1992-95. He spent seven years as a defensive line coach; Jones, who played at the University of Tennessee from 1983-86, spent 23 seasons with the Mountaineers. 

During his tenure, Jones worked with the defensive line, linebackers, he was defensive coordinator for three years and he was also special teams coordinator. He was named App State's co-defenisve coordinator before the 2018 season began In all, five coaches have left App State since Sattefield accepted the U of L head-coaching job.
