Ashe Teachers Get Salary Supplements Raise (2018-09-12 15:20:33)

Teacher salary supplements have increased in Ashe County.

The Ashe Post and Times reports that the Ashe County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on September 10th to raise certified salary supplements by $100, and non-certified salary supplements by $50.

According to the report, this raises the certified supplements to a total of $600, and the non-certified supplements to $300.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction stated that last school year, Ashe County was one of only 16 schools in the state with teacher salary supplements under $1,000.

The state average last year was over $2,500.
