Hubbard Has First Court Appearance (2018-09-05 15:18:48)

Jessie R. Hubbard of Crumpler had his first court appearance on August 22nd after being accused of murdering Diane Goss of West Jefferson on August 19th.

During the initial investigation, Goss was found dead in an apartment on Nathan’s Creek School Road in Crumpler. Preliminary results from an autopsy indicate that Goss died from multiple blunt force trauma to the head.

The Ashe Post and Times reports that at his first court appearance, Hubbard was not given a set bail for the murder charge, but was given a $1 million active bond for three counts of possession of firearm by a felon.

According to the report, Hubbard is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center. His next scheduled court appearance is September 6th.
