Woman Charged With Embezzling From Boone Business (2018-08-30 15:39:15)

A former employee of The Golden Cockerel Russian gift store in Boone has been charged with embezzling more than $35,000 from the business.

The Watauga Democrat reports Christina Dawn Grubb, 39 years of age of Wilson, was arrested on August 21st on seven counts of felony larceny by employee, seven counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense and seven counts of felony financial card fraud.

According to the report, warrants for Grubb’s arrest were issued by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office on August 20th, and Grubb was arrested by the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office the next day.

Grubb has been issued a September 14th court date.
