Kermit Ralph Pruitt, age 74 of Sparta, NC passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

He was born June 5, 1944 to Clifford George and Louisa Cleary Pruitt. He was preceded in death by his father; Ex-wife, Wanda Brown; half-brother, William “Bill” Pruitt. He was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. He was a barber in Sparta for 51 years. Kermit was famous for thinking about others above himself. He loved his community and the people in it. He was a talented musician, and was loved by all. He is survived by two sons, Gregory Pruitt and wife Belinda of Mouth of Wilson, VA, Doug Pruitt and wife Teresa of Kernersville; six grandchildren, Brittany Pruitt, Ashley Pruitt, Dustin Pruitt, Corey Pruitt, Travis Rogers, and Taylor Rogers; his mother, Louisa Cleary Pruitt of Sparta; one brother, Rev. Danny Pruitt and wife Beverly of Sparta; one sister, Mattaline Blevins and husband Willie of Laurel Springs; special friend and caregiver, Pat Eastridge; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to celebrate the life of Kermit at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 30, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Danny Pruitt, Reverend Eddie Foster, and Brother Hugh Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Landmark Cemetery with full military rites conducted by Bruce Wayne Osborne VFW Post #7034. The family will receive friends starting at 12:30 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home and other times at their respective homes.
