Ricks, Milbourne Named To ASU's Board Of Trustees (2018-08-22 15:52:55)

The Appalachian State University Board of Trustees appointed two new members.

Mark Ricks, class of ’89, was appointed by a unanimous vote of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors on July 27th.

Ricks is joined by Appalachian State junior DeJon Milbourne.

Both were sworn in at the June 22nd meeting of the Trustees. Ricks will be officially sworn in at the next meeting of the trustees, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, September 20th and 21st.

Ricks holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the university’s College of Arts and Sciences. In 2017, he committed $10 million to support the university’s A Mountaineer Impact initiative, which provides essential resources for Appalachian Athletics.

Milbourne is president of Appalachian’s Student Government Association and a quadruple major in finance and banking; risk management and insurance; accounting; and economics.
