Jeep Collides With Watauga Sheriff's Car, Runs Through Boone Business (2018-08-22 15:59:16)

A Jeep collided with a Watauga County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and ran through a Boone business on Monday afternoon.

The Watauga Democrat reports the accident happened around 4:30 p.m., when a Jeep Cherokee, driven by Steve Miller, 71 years of age of Boone, pulled out of a parking lot on N.C. 105 and stopped in the travel lane of the highway, causing Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Garrett Norris to collide with the Jeep.

According to the report, Miller's Jeep spun around and headed back into the parking lot he initially pulled out from, and he drove into the business Psychic Kim. One employee was inside the building at the time of the accident, but was unharmed. It is undetermined what caused Miller to drive into the business.

Both Miller and Norris were transported to Watauga Medical Center for minor injuries. Miller was cited with failure to yield the right of way.
