Josephine Crouse Bearman, age 81 of 121 Wellington Court, Mt. Airy, NC passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Surry Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Airy, NC.

She was born February 15, 1937 in Max Meadows, VA to the late Arthur William and Celia Ellen Johnson Crouse. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Howard Reed; her second husband, Jerome Phillip Bearman; son, Jerry Lee Reed; two sisters, Alma Lee Wilson, Anna Mae Joines; two brothers, George Calloway Crouse, Arthur William Crouse, Jr.; half-sister, Claudine Whalen; half-brother, Elmer Crouse. Josephine was always outgoing and helpful. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved music and sang in a gospel quartet, the Joint Heirs. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Janice Ann Parrish and husband Dr. Tom Parrish of Mt. Airy; one brother, Richard Glen Crouse of Glade Valley; three granddaughters, Mariah Hope, Hannah Dickerson and husband Chastin, Andrea Winkler; two grandsons, Luke Parrish and wife Jessica, Scott Reed; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Josephine at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Evangelist Robert Giesbers officiating. Interment will follow in the Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
