Two Men Suffer Minor Injuries In 105 Bypass Rollover Accident (2018-08-09 15:24:34)

Two men suffered minor injuries after rolling down the embankment off the 105 Bypass in Boone on Monday.

The Watauga Democrat reports the rollover happened at the intersection of Earl Lyons Road around 11:40 a.m.

According to the report, the driver of the 2000 Toyota Tacoma in the accident, Wilbert Griffith, 76 years of age of Mountain City, was traveling West on the bypass, when a Nissan passenger car, driven by Victoria Eve Capdeville, 22 years of age of Davie, Florida, pulled out in front of Griffith, while making a left turn onto the bypass from Earl Lyons Road.

Griffith was able to swerve to the right to avoid hitting Capdeville, causing the rollover.

The Tacoma was totaled with an estimated $8,000 in damages.

Griffith and his passenger, William Tesser, 55 years of age of Mountain City, were transported by Watauga Medics to Watauga Medical Center for minor injuries.

Capdeville was cited with unsafe movement.
